BEKOlut® Flash Columns

Flash chromatography is a widely used separation method for preparative purposes in organic chemical laboratories. It can be carried out manually with little equipment or automatically. For separations in normal or reversed phase mode, irregular sorbents with a suitable particle size distribution or more efficient spherical sorbents with particle sizes around 30 µm are suitable.

BEKOlut® now offers an extensive range of flash cartridges for the different systems. These include, for example:

  • ISCO Companion® and other Teledyne ISCO CombiFlash® systems
  • Biotage® Isolera™, Biotage® FlashMaster™, Büchi
  • Yamazen Smart Flash, Interchim® puriFlash® systems

ADVANTAGES OF BEKOlut® FLASH COLUMNS

01

The cartridge housing is made of proven polypropylene and can withstand pressures up to 350 psi (24 bar)

02

Different cartridge sizes are available for scaling from milligram to gram

03

Wide range of different normal and reversed phases available

04

Efficient spherical sorbents for fast separations and high loading capacity

As materials, irregular and spherical sorbents are available: BEKOlut® silica gel 40-60 μm, BEKOlut® silica gel 30 μm and spherical reversed phase BEKOlut® C18e 50 μm as well as spherical BEKOlut® C18e 30 µm are available. Other sorbents are available on request.

BEKOlut® SILICA GEL FLASH CARTRIDGES

The normal phase separations of organic compounds from synthesis approaches are the main application. BEKOlut® Flash Silica Gel is available in two particle size distributions. The 30 µm sorbent has a narrow particle size distribution and high purity in terms of metal ion traces. The fine fraction is minimal, so that a uniform and high flow rate is ensured. Resolution and peak shape are extremely good for most applications – combined with an outstanding price/performance ratio. The irregular silica gel with a particle size distribution ist he standard for most applications.

BEKOlut® C18e FLASH CARTRIDGES

BEKOlut C18e Flash cartridges, as hydrophobically modified silica gel, are the phase of choice when it comes to the purification of polar and hydrophilic compounds that are too strongly or even irreversibly retained on silica gel. The BEKOlut C18e phase is also recommended for strongly hydrophobic compounds that are not retained on silica gel. Aqueous-organic mobile phases are generally used here. Reversed phase materials offer an alternative to silica-gel packed columns for a variety of compounds. Excellent sorbent quality and reproducibility are key features of C18e flash cartridges.
